"Eclipse Dragon", Acrylic and Gold Leaf on Wood

375.00

According to ancient Chinese mythology, an eclipse was a dragon consuming the sun.  It could be scared away with the banging and clanging of drums pots and pans.

In 2017 I witnessed my first total eclipse while camping in the painted hills in Eastern Oregon.  The stars came out in the middle of the day, and I could see and feel the dragon all around me.  The dragon was scared off by the celebratory cheering and shouting of thousands of fellow eclipse enthusiasts scattered throughout the hills.

This is a one of a kind original acrylic and gold leaf painting by Kelly Patton.

It measures 15" x 15" round and is ready to hang.  The original art is packaged carefully and ships quickly.
